Welcome! Here, you can find a collection of my work experiences in the education field. As a paraprofessional at Pettit Park Elementary, I have gained valuable skills and knowledge working with students and teachers.

Student Support & Behavior Intervention

I assist the principal with behavior referrals, provide support for students assigned to in-school suspension, and facilitate multi-grade social skills groups. Students referred to the Success Room complete a Referral Think Sheet, which serves as a starting point for reflection and discussion once they are emotionally regulated. Additionally, I prepare Office Referral Parent Notes to be sent home and, when necessary, implement Student Behavior Contracts to support positive behavior change.
I also provide supervision for students who need a structured break from the classroom to reset and refocus. For students with IEPs and 504 Plans, I ensure their break time aligns with the accommodations outlined in their plans. I maintain a sensory room with clear procedures and boundaries to create a safe and supportive environment.

Social Skills & Student Mentorship

I lead social skills groups for students in grades three through five, focusing on social-emotional development in a small group setting. These sessions help students strengthen interpersonal skills, self-regulation, and problem-solving abilities to support their academic and social success.

Additionally, I oversee the Check-In/Check-Out (CICO) program, which pairs students with a staff mentor to provide daily guidance, encouragement, and goal setting. This program fosters accountability, positive relationships, and personal growth.
